- Nomenclatural Comment
- On pp. 586–588 Quinn et al. 2003 (Aust. Syst. Bot. 16, 581–594) discuss the relationship between Cyathodes pumila of New Zealand and C. dealbata of Tasmania. Using molecular evidence they state "This suggests the two populations may well be conspecific, although detailed morphological study is still required...". As mentioned by Quinn et al. 2003, both taxa were excluded from Cyathodes sens. str. by Weiller 1996 (Aust. Syst. Bot. 9, 491–507) but have not been included within any of the segregate genera. This is supported by the molecular analyses of Quinn et al. 2003, where they emerged distant to Cyathodes sens. str. and sister to Monotoca. However, Quinn et al. (2003) concluded that the morphological features separated them from Monotoca also.
