Nomenclatural Comment
Eagle 1982 volume 2, p. 367 says “Quintinia acutifolia and Q. elliptical are probably not specifically distinct from Q. serrata (the earliest name)”. This is probably the opinion of Tony Druce. Qunintinia is very variable and some botanists prefer to regard Quintinia acutifolia and Q. elliptical as synonyms of Q. serrata because leaf shape (the main distinguishing character), seems to form a cline.
