Polyphyletic, based on specimens in GenBank identified as this thnus. Specimens identified as the type species D. spicatum (CBS 852.73 and CBS 162.47) are Leotiomycetes close to Phialocephala; other specimens identified as D. asperum (CBS139.95) is Pleosporales, and type of D. mirabile (CBS 184.58) the ITS matches nothing, LSU perhaps Dothideomycetes [PRJ, 2019]
