Taxonomic Comment
This species was treated by Samson et al. 2009, and synonomised into a new species Paecilomyces formosus. However the new combination Paecilomyces formosus is invalid ( Art. 36.1) as its basionym Monilia formosa is invalid. Also no type was cited ( Art. 40.1). Thus Paecilomyces maximus is the best name for this taxon. [BSW 2019]
