- Herzog's Pachyglossa nov. gen. was not validly published. It refered to a Pachyglossa tristicha Herz. that W. Martin referred to in a paper on the The Bryophytes of Stewart Island, Trans. Roy. Soc. New Zaaland 78 (1950), but in this Martin merely referred to a new hepatic about which Prof. Herzog "replied it was a new genus and suggested the name Pachyglossa tristicha."
