- The specific epithet nitidum means shiny or polished, and seems apt for this lustrous species., Lectotype: N.Z., Bay of Islands, J.D. Hooker (herb. Wilson 411), BM 000986857! Selected by R. Hattaway in Mar 1980, but apparently not published. The lectotype is sparsely fruiting and accompanied by a series of detailed sketches by Wilson.
