The data may contain inaccuracies, as the database it has been drawn from is subject to ongoing development., Plants from the Kermadec Islands were identified by Tindale (1965) as belonging to a possible new species. It is still awaiting formal description but differs from L. glabella in having generally larger, less divided fronds, with broader ultimate segments, and rather sparse hairs.
