- By the transferral of Hooker’s illegitimate Areca baueri to Kentia, Seeman (1868) validated the name, therefore K. baueri Seem. must stand as the legitimate taxonomic synonym of Rhopalostylis baueri H.Wendl. et Drude. However, Wendland & Drude (1875) did not appear to recognise this when making their combination for Rhopalostylis baueri.
